Visiting Tokyo Tech Institute in Japan

Principle investigator, Mirela Kopjar, as a fellow of “Matsumae International Foundation” stayed at “Tokyo Institute of Technology“ in Japanu in the lab of prof. Sakurai at the department of  “Center for Biological Resources and Informatics“. During her stay, from April 1st to August 31st 2015, she was working on the project untitled “Computer Simulation Study on the Interaction between Trehalose and Aroma Compounds and/or Phenolics in Aqueous Solution”.

On April 17th 2015. she presented results of previous research on trehalose impact on fruit product quality, as well as results obtained on project TrehaMovement. Also, presentation of the project was conducted.

On invitation of Hayashibara company, on August 12th 2015., she also presented results on trehalose impact on fruit product quality and the project. Members of R&D presented their experience on trehalose, which was very valuable for our further research.

During that period, collaboration with prof. Sakurai team and further collaboration with Hayashibara company was agreed.
